Slow making, living memory
Founded in 2012 at Bonotto’s workshop in Molvena, in the Veneto region of Italy, the ethos of Fabbrica Lenta was born from a desire to preserve the value of making in a world increasingly driven by speed and standardisation. At Bonotto, time is not something to be rushed, but something to be cultivated. Working as a Fabbrica Lenta means combining traditional weaving techniques with contemporary creativity and artistic research, allowing ancient knowledge to inspire new forms of expression.
Ancient looms, still in use today, carry a unique technicall heritage passed down for generations. Through their slow and precise movements, they give each textile its own character, depth and identity. Every fabric tells the story of the relationship between the artisan, the machine and the material. More than a textile making workshop, the Fabbrica Lenta is a place where craftsmanship, art and culture come together. Over the years, artists, designers, architects and creatives have contributed to this ongoing exchange, bringing new perspectives into the world of weaving. By balancing tradition and innovation, Bonotto creates textiles that carry not only beauty, but also the knowledge, passion and time behind every creation.
