Ludovic Lunetier is the only shop in Belgium offering bespoke handcrafted eyewear. It was founded by optician-optometrist Ludovic Elens, who spent the first ten years of his career working with and for Belgian and international upscale eyewear brands, after sharpening his skills at the Eyeglass Craftsmanship School in Morez, directed by the Meilleurs Ouvriers de France. Wanting to offer his clientele unique, perfectly fitting frames expressing the personality of the wearer, in 2015 Ludovic and his wife Vinciane decided to aim for the stars: they launched their own brand, Lunetier Ludovic, to create the perfect pair of glasses for each and every client.

How does your bespoke service work?

Materials, forms, colours, and finishing are all discussed in detail with each client. Precise measurements and photographs are taken, which the design department translates into a blueprint of the glasses, designed to fit our clients’ needs and wishes.

Where do you find inspiration?

I travel the world to meet, discuss and learn from master eyewear designers and makers. I want to understand the approach and technicality of my fellow craftsmen, and I exclusively represent the collections of many amazing international eyewear brands in Brussels.

How important are creativity and innovation?

We are continually experimenting with new materials and techniques, and each crafted pair of glasses adds to the skills of our team. By striving for perfection and the absolute happiness of our clients, we keep on raising our standards.

What is the best memory of your professional life?

I believe the most memorable moment was when we found the location of our store. My wife Vinciane was nine months and nine days pregnant, and I signed the lease of our store on the day of the birth of my first son Felix! What an adventure.
