Founded in Milan in 1992 by Costanza Paravicini, Laboratorio Paravicini is a family-run atelier specialising in handcrafted ceramic tableware, where traditional Italian craftsmanship is reimagined through a contemporary lens. Frustrated by the lack of tableware that suited her taste, Costanza set out to create pieces reminiscent of the past yet suitable for everyday use. The signature technique at Laboratorio Paravicini is 'gran fuoco' under-glaze on white earthenware. It results in vibrant and indelible decorations. This method, deeply rooted in tradition, is complemented by digital printing in select collections, blending craftsmanship with innovation. Drawing inspiration from sources as diverse as Lombard ceramic traditions, fashion, art, architecture, and daily life, the atelier continuously evolves its designs.
Costanza’s daughters, Benedetta and Margherita, now work alongside her, infusing the atelier with what she calls 'a wave of freshness.' Together, they create customisable, tailor-made tableware that reflects the unique personality and taste of each client. Their dedication to creative exploration, combined with meticulous attention to detail, has positioned Laboratorio Paravicini as a reference point for an international clientele seeking quality, refinement, and personalised table settings. Through this mother-daughter collaboration, the atelier continues to uphold its artisanal heritage while offering ceramics that embody both tradition and modern elegance.
