Built on the site of the Boch earthenware factory in La Louvière – once the flagship of Belgian industry – the Keramis museum is a space celebrating art and creativity, particularly ceramics. An audacious, contemporary structure has been built around the old listed factory building, housing a remarkable collection of ceramics made in the 19th and 20th centuries at Boch along with the last three giant bottle kilns of their type in Belgium.

As well as its permanent collection, Keramis also explores the world of ceramics through temporary exhibitions aiming to promote this underrated discipline. Alongside retrospectives of historical figures, Keramis devotes a large part of its programme to group or individual exhibitions by contemporary artists from the second half of the 20th century.
