Take a tour of Paperoowl, the shop and working space of the paper artisan Stefania Giannici. Here, she designs and handcrafts delicate jewellery, mobiles, notebooks, boxes, toys and art miniatures out of paper. Her artworks are gentle yet robust. This self-taught and passionate paper artist chooses the best high quality paper from all over the world, working on the peculiar potential of each. Stefania will illustrate to visitors the personality of the most precious kinds of paper, explaining their different uses. She will also show some of her pieces, disclosing the phases of their making.
The delicate strength of paper, when handled by the right handsStefania Giannici is the owner, designer and artisan of the Venetian one-woman business Paperoowl, a paper studio and shop where she creates jewellery, home design objects, boxes, notebooks, toys, origami, mobiles, custom pieces, art miniatures and even some Venice landscapes “in a box”: everything out of paper. The space is a hymn to paper, a surprisingly eclectic and constantly transforming material – just like Stefania. She handmakes original articles, renowned for being enchanting and resistant at the same time, starting from the selection of the paper, among a wide and precious variety from all over the world. Stefania is a self-taught paper artist and her creative approach is experimental: never afraid of mistakes, on the contrary she thinks they’re the most challenging and fascinating part of the process and that at the end paper tells her what to do.
