• How did your weaving journey start?

  My grandmother and mother showed me how to weave in the 1950s—it was something that most of us in those days knew how to do. Even my neighbours shared many of the secrets of weaving. By the time I was 14, it became a serious passion!

• How are your products tied to the region?

  We think of our carpets as fine wine, closely linked to Samugheo and to Sardinia itself. The wool we use is Sardinian, as are the girls who weave them. The creatives we host and those who design our collections stay with us and feel the festive atmosphere of our town.

• What fascinates you about your work?

  Weaving brings together seemingly distant worlds and connects them through a single thread. Fashion, art, and design all tell a story about this land and its rich culture. It’s a culture that originated some 3500 years ago, considered one of the most influential civilizations in the Mediterranean.

• Do you think your craft is at risk?

  I have four children working in my business and eight grandchildren, so for the next generation, we should be fine! To anyone who aspires to follow me in this line of work, I would tell them to have fun, learn a new skill, and share your experience with others as much as possible.
