Engineered lamps

  • • Hamlet is a professional light engineer who makes artisan lamps
  • • He believes that skills develop with time
  • • He recycles bottles, wood and fabric to make lamps

Hamlet Hakobyan’s lamp glows with a warm ambiance, a result of the time, care and attention to detail invested by hand making. A strong belief was instilled in Hamlet that skill develops with time, and the care taken by handmaking is experienced only during the time. Hamlet got the idea of making lamps while he was cleaning the basement of his home, he had an idea of making a lamp from organic glass and it turned out to be a focal point in his life. Lamp making became his business. Besides designing and making lamps, he works in public TV. Hamlet says "Lamp making is never going to be a dying craft as the light is eternal.’’ Hamlet’s lamps are environmentally friendly as he reuses and recycles different materials.
